Beautiful Lake Maggiore

The house we rented for a week in the nearby village of Cerro was beautiful, practical, and very well situated to take advantage of what beautiful Lake Maggiore has to offer. It was a week of relaxing, of visiting with Mark and Piero, of catching up with Peter and Alice who also came to the region to spend time with us, and also of touring around the area, which seems to attract mostly local Italian tourists, but also visitors from nearby Switzerland, France, and Germany.

The house was very near the water, and the surroundings were beautiful.

The view from our bedroom window was just lovely.

At night, the lit church added a nice atmosphere.
The nearby beach allow Mark to run a lesson of synchronized swimming with Tristan, Joy, and Michael P.
Joy and Vicki testing the refreshing water.
It was lovely, even with a storm brewing in the high mountains in the distance.

The waterfront offered beautiful views in the early evening.
The storm moving in.
Thor was not happy.
Still some sunshine from the other side.
Which usually means beautiful rainbows.
And spectacular sunsets.
Peter and Alice enjoying the comfort inside.
The snow-capped mountains in the distance, the morning after the storm.
