The gallery itself is very impressive, with two long corridors linked by a short one to form a U (the name comes from the Italian word for offices, and not the letter), all beautifully ornate, with side rooms jam-packed with art.

An interesting aspect of the art collection is that it documents quite well the transition from religious Pre-Renaissance art through the evolution of the Renaissance style.
