The initial reason for choosing Lake Maggiore as a destination on this trip was so we could visit with Mark and Piero who have a beautiful vacation home in Castelveccana. We had the honour of meeting Piero's mother and also his sister and brother-in-law.

Mark and Piero have a motor boat and took most of us in turns for a ride and a swim in this gorgeous mountain lake.

It looks like Joy could also get used to this kind of lifestyle. |
 |
Same with Vicki. |

Beautiful Lake Maggiore. |
Piero's sister Paola and her husband Aldo took us on a beautiful ride on their sail boat.

 |
We had a very nice lunch at a lakeside restaurant with Aldo, Mark, Piero and Paola. |
And one evening, Mark and Piero took us to a small church way, way up on the mountain to listen to an early evening concert by a classical guitarist. The road up and down the mountain was crazy, the music was lovely, and the view from the church was spectacular.

We are so fortunate to have good friends who welcomed us in their piece of paradise.
