Murano

During the middle of the day, when Venice was being overrun by the tourists, we took the Vaporetto shuttle boat to the small island of Murano where all the beautiful glass is made. It looks somewhat like Venice, but without the hordes of tourists, so it is lovely and very quiet.

On our way to Murano, trying to blend in with the local population.
Jim, Kate, Tristan, Vicki and Joy overlooking the main canal of Murano.
Beautiful Murano.
The main canal.
We found a quiet restaurant right on the canal.
Enjoying a very pleasant lunch.
The food was beautifully prepared. Vicki with delicious herbs and cheese raviolis.
Tristan with a delicious fish dish, and a glass of wine. Lucky boy!
And Jim with the most unusual and appealing bucket of fruits.
